Genetics in the Real World
Histones, radial loops, Mendelian genetics… so what!?
It can be hard to grasp where this knowledge comes from and how it can be used to help us grow and learn. But what we’re learning in class isn’t all abstract stuff that people learn for the sake of learning. For example, the human genome project, as you may well know, was a large-scale project that derived and mapped our own DNA! Can you believe it? Indeed, it was no small task. One mapped chromosome could easily fill an entire file cabinet! Anyway, in case you’re curious about the human genome project, I found a very useful website for student and teacher alike! Look it over and let me know what you think!
This site is a little childish, but also a very nice source for information, reinforcement, and different perspectives on the material we are covering! I think there are even some games to be won here!
